Gripper rods on concrete floor?

What is the best way to affix a carpet gripper rod on a concrete floor?

Small masonry nails do this well in my house.

Thanks for the info. Will No More Nails be strong enough?

As somebody else posted in this thread, I thought of using masonry mails, but being close to the edge of the wall (as gripper rods are), I thought I may have a problem with the concrete chipping away.

Indeed. My gripper came with the masonry nails already attached.

They are OK in newer houses. On very old (good) concrete you often can't get them in.

Another place, another time......

Me: "You'll need to bring the epoxy adhesive when you come as you won't get the nails into the 70 year old concrete floor"

Carpet fitter: "OK"

On arrival:

Me: "Did you bring the epoxy adhesive?"

Carpet fitter: "No, it'll be OK"

~~~ 10 minutes of banging and swearing ~~~
Carpet fitter: "I'll just have to go and get the epoxy"
Grrrr.
Beware of gas pipes near the surface - I removed a gripper rod from a concrete floor and this resulted in a (quite audible) gas leak. The offending tack was no longer than 3/4in in length!
