Grill only for a brick-built BBQ

The previous owners of our house built a brick barbecue, the kind the charcoal tray and grill slot into. I need to replace the top grill but nobody seems to stock that sort of part any more.

The closest I got was this one:

bought this item from Argos, but the width of grill piece doesn't match; it's just about a centimetre too wide for my brickwork.

It's basically a rectangular chromium-plated grill that I need. I've looked in the DIY stores and garden centres etc. but they usually have smaller grills with handles rather than something like this. Can anyone suggest any what sort of shops to find this in? Or any BBQ equpment specialists in the Thames Valley area (are there such businesses) ?

TIA.

If it is only 1cm, can't you just "adjust" the brickwork with an angle grinder to suit? Depending on the construction, running a groove may be possible. You can get a perfectly adequate (for this sort of job) grinder for under a tenner..

zeke explained on 25/06/2006 :

Have a word with your local supermarket to ask if they have any redundant chrome steel grids as used for display. Cut it to size using an angle grinder or a hacksaw.

It was probably one of the Black Knight barbecues that used to be sold through most garden centres. You just supplied the bricks mortar and elbow grease.
