glue for uPVC

I have previously used superglue to fix uPVC to uPVC (end caps to sills etc) and this usually lasts much better than silicone, but has no gap-filling properties. I had to fix a cover strip to the top of a uPVC door (I did not measure up !), and superglue would not take. It turned out the back of the cover strip was not sufficiently flat. So I used silicone as that was what I had to hand. What glue should I use that is more permanent that silicone, but will also fill slight gaps ?? Thanks, Simon.

Solvent weld for PVC drain pipe. It will 'gap fill' by dissolving the surface. And you'll never separate them.

I've used impact adhesive (evostik) to stick plastic cup hooks to uPVC windows, having first removed all traces of the useless double-sided tape provided with the hook, and it's worked absolutely brilliantly.

(No I don't hang cups on the double glazing; this is for supporting rigid curtain rails...)

I've ofen not had much luck with that (especially for reapirs), as the uPVC had so much filler in it that it wouldn't dissolve well enough to gap fill. The trick was to dissolve some unfilled PVC wastepipe in it (as shavings) too.
