It looks like i'll never get into the habit of placing a hand over a shirt pocket , when bending down. Temporary placement over the head just means they can fall from an even greater height. So far thinking of a loom band or similar and a small clip to the lip of the pocket, but clip has to be non metal, none found. Next , certainly obeys the KISS principle. A small hole in the lip of every shirt pocket with a silicone rubber loom band or similar looped and knotted through the hole of every shirt, should survive washing m/c ok. Any other ideas?

It'll soon be a non-issue, as It seems to me that the majority of shirts these days are being made without shirts pockets anyway. Even those that do seem to much shallower pockets when compared to those of ten years ago. :-(
Buttoned pocket? Then you can feed one arm of the glasses in the top of the pocket then out through the button hole.

Or just the hole, but I'm not sure it would not slide out again on bending over. Luckily I only buy shirts with at least one pocket, precisely for soft placement of glasses of some shape or form, place them temporarily anywhere else and they get mislaid or forgotten.
I only use travel shirts, and they seem to g=have them.
JUst as well, as I'd have nowhere to put my monocle without taking the string off from round my neck!
