flush fitting light in bathroom

Hi All

Just acquired a flush fitting light for the bathroom (zone 1,2,3). This light has a plastic celiing fitting (about 2 inches x 3 inches) with a bulb holder attached to it. There is a soft rubber grommet at the top for a cable to be pushed through and a choc block connector inside connecting to a double insulated twin core that connects to the bulb holder..

The plan was to replace the simple light bulb that was fixed to the ceiling. The exisiting ceiling rose however is a complicated beast (loop-in wiring and a spur off to a fan means that there are 4 cables into this box).

My question is if I can use the fitting that came with the flush fitting light as a kind of DIY ceiling rose (using several choc-block connectors to connect all the wires.) There is an additional block supplied and the instructions say "an additional connector block is provided for loop in/out connection and supply earth termination if required."

Sorry this message is so long but it is kind of hard to describe something you are not familar with....

Cheers,

Steve
