Fence Spray Treatments

My BIL used one of the pump up sprays and wasn't impressed - apparently it blocked up every few mins and he wasn't impressed by the finish. Not being funny but you only need one arm to brush it on?

I'm not clear where the problem is exactly, but no doubt there's a reason. Is pumping easier than 6" brushing?

I sprayed my garden shed using B & Qs own brand fence and shed preservative and own brand pressure sprayer. Worked a treat, the sprayer nozzle didn't block, and it was quicker and easier than brushing especially as there is restricted access on two sides and not enough room to stand with a brush. The only problem you might have is drift of the preservative onto areas that you don't want to get preservative on such as concrete fence posts, if you have them. Also, doing it one handed, you will need to work out a way of steadying the empty sprayer (which is very light) and supporting the container of preservative (which is relatively heavy)while you fill up the sprayer, or ask someone to help you with that. Are you sure this is the best time of year for this? I would want the wood to be bone dry, for there not to be any wind and for there to be no sign of rain (or snow) for a few days.
