Exterior paint question

May 28, 2005 1 Replies

I'm painting the outside of my house a pale cream (yes, it is relevant!) using a good quality (Sandtex) microporous smooth masonry paint.

There are a lot of waste pipes, some plastic, some cast iron, all of which have been painted in some kind of glossy black non-emulsion.

My question: will the masonry paint stay on the pipework, or have I got to go back up the ladder with an exterior gloss?

TIA..Pete

I've never put masonry paint onto gloss before, but I have painted tile paint over gloss, and masonry paint straight onto plastic utter pipe. My guess is that you'll be ok.

Andy.
