Extension spur

Nov 17, 2005 2 Replies

I am looking at fitting an spur socket from an existing socket in our bedroom. I thought it was going to be easy until I looked at what I needed to buy.

Should I get a Single pole socket or a double pole one?

Are they wired up in the same way?

If not how do they differ?

TIA

Double is maginally better, but either will do.

Yup exactly.

The only difference is the switch. Single pole will open just the live connection leaving the Neutral connected. Double pole will open both live and neutral.
