Experimenting.

I'd have thought that it'd strip the coating from the seat. Dishwashers are pretty aggressive - I once accidentally stripped the chrome from the needle on a carburettor.

I've never washed a loo seat in one. The main fails I've seen are melting plastic - pet mainly, polythene seems to be ok. And they corrode copper, zinc & brass to some degree. Electricals are mostly fine, but not relays, speakers, brass contacts, doubtless there are other things. And to cya, don't wash anything electrical unless you have the expertise to know when & how it is or is not safe to.
