Energy Price Cap

Yes, it was the last Winter we were still using our Lister Generator to the farm house., it only provided about 2Kw but that was enough to keep the lights and telly on. Households. were far less dependent on electricity then with heating and cooking done on the wood fired Rayburn, and bedrooms were cold with no central heating so it was hot water bottles all around. We coped but not many people including myself would really want to go back . Ironically after half a century I have now have a generator in the shed because after half a century of growing up and living with a reliable electricity supply I don’t trust it to be there all the time soon. And we can cook and stay warm with woodburner if needs be, but not everyone can do that , you cannot safely run a generator in flat . Perhaps we will start to see the old problems of damp and health problems caused by portable LPG or even paraffin stoves as people in such properties turn to them for warmth if the leccy goes off.

That's a crude way of putting it but it's essentially the problem to my mind. There are simply too many of us humans for the planet to support long term. We need to reduce the birth rate. Maybe banning sex is OTT but we need something on those lines.

*We* have. Most if not all European peoples are below the replacement rate.

You need to sell this to Africa.

No, it will be a tax. All problems can be solved by paying more tax.

True enough, any ideas how we do it? The best known method at present is to educate girls/women.

Not as stupid as it sounds. Methane capture strapped to cows bottoms...

Is the absolute population of Earth going UP or DOWN ?. Is it projected to reach 11 Billion ?. YES or NO ?

Nice easy questions

Err. Wrong as usual. Try the 'other end'.

Hint: It's what they burp out.

Yes, as far as I know. But the extra bodies aren't going to be Europeans, nor, I think, Chinese. So it isn't we who need to reduce our birth rate. Are you suggesting otherwise?
