Seems as if lots of firms are going to struggle to meet their obligation to pay Ofgem to cover its renewable energy charge. The cash will be used to support renewable energy projects.
That maybe is an explanation as to why my energy supplier is a) not sending bills out (I posted about this a couple of months back) b) difficult to get through to customer services c) haven't responded to my acknowledged complain (they have 2 full working days left to meet the/their 10 day target).
I buy discounted power via offers in advance via Credit card, so today have just bought £26 of power for £18. I'm hoping that if anything goes amiss:
1) I'll be refunded any unused advanced payment (I think this is an Ofgen requirement) or failing that the Credit card company will refund me
2) I'll be able to switch out from whoever Ofgen force upon me fairly quickly.
I see Robin Hood have just had a big bail out
Well, the sun is shining so lots of green energy today, eh ho.
