Eco-Hometec (made by MAN) make one of the finest boilers around, in the RR class, Andy hall will tell ypu all about it, yet as Simon Stroud on this ng, who bought one, said..."One small issue when dealing with Eco-Hometec was their apparent keenness for "electronic" water conditioners."

Top makers of heat banks/cylinder and boilers recommend electronic. They recommend them as "in the field" they are known to work.

And my Aqua-Dial, who make phosphor descalers and full salt softeners, still works.

Well now I am left with just 2 options.

2/ Spend the money on beer.

I'm very tempted to go for 2/ and then I won't care about the state of the limescale in the shower (until the following morning afrer 1/)

If you clip these things around your beer glass then they apparently make the beer taste better, last longer and remove those nasty hangover side effects.

Oh, and they protect the earth from asteroids as well.

I also have a phosphor descaler canister. It is very effective a keeping scale down. It requires a new canister every year. About £15 each.

Alternatively, buy the cans and pour them down the sink. Misses out the middleman and is a known hangover prevention.

So the electronic one isn't satisfactory on its own. Figures.
