A lot has gone since then... I notice that this week is the first time for longer than a year (AFAICT from the annual GW plot) that gas has been providing more energy for the weekday evening peak than coal. Odd that Didcot shut down at the end of last week...
Coal had been at around 20GW weekdays daytime for ages, now it's down at
17 or 18 GW. Didn't think the bit of Didcot that shut was that big, so something else has changed as well.
