Since Lithium Ions are double the voltage, is there such a thing as a "dummy AA" battery which I could use along with a Lithium to give the same voltage in a 2xAA piece of equipment?

Bit of wooden dowel with a contact (drawing pin) at each end, and wire funning between them.
A knackered AA battery with the terminals bridged with a strip of cooking foil.
There is a "proper" dummy AA. Maplin used to sell them in case you needed an odd voltage from a battery box.
They must still be available somewhere.
There used to be something like this made which had ways to attach wires, but not seen them recently. I had two to convert an old radio to run off a psu long ago. It seems that this kind of mod is discouraged these days.

Not discouraged, but less mainstream as fewer people can be bothered even wanting to know about anything useful that isn't to do with celebrities and gossip about fools.
What are they called? Searching for dummy AA didn't work.
That sounds good, I'll have to keep my next busted one, I've just emptied the recycling box.
Come again?
I suspect he's talking about Li-ion 14500 cells (3.7-4.2V) compared to AA (1.2-1.5V) cells.
Or one of the none rechargeable lithium cells like Lithium Thionyl Chloride. There is a lot of confusion about lithium cells.

Those aren't, but this sort of thing are
Usually with worrying names like UltraFire, TrustFire or SureFire
Ah yes I see - thanks. I'd not come across these. A bit odd, IMO, that they're AA size.
A bargain including P&P.
Wreak not wreck. :-0
Probably so you can have a torch which will accept either if the circuitry isn't fussy about voltage. It's asking for people to blow things up though.
Show me any Lithium based battery which is 1.2 volts.
Not really - at least in the case of torches which can use either standard AA or 14500 (or whatever version).
Has anyone got any recommendations for such AA batteries and suitable chargers? Something safe but not too expensive.
That's =A316 including postage, which is ridiculous.

It's always funny, until someone gets hurt... then it's just hilarious.
Copied and pasted from somewhere. My mind automatically glossed over the misspelling. Now corrected.
