I've had an air fryer for a couple of years or so and have noticed that in the area it is used I get brown greasy stains on the tiles. The outside of the air fryer gets greasy too.
Is this from evaporating fat/grease? I don't add any but oven chips are coated in it and meat contains it naturally.
It's easier to clean the air fryer than the oven but the oven doesn't seem to spray fat all around.

Yes, and minutre carbon grains
Well no. I think my air fryer is going to the skip. In winter I have an AGA and in summer I light the barbecue

I guess it’s the more volatile components of the fat in the food that are condensing on the tiles.
We’ve had an air fryer for three years but there’s no residues on the tiles behind it.
One suggestion is to lower the cooking temperature a little, and another might be to change one’s diet to lighter stuff…
We don’t cook (red) meat in the air fryer because we don’t eat it, but it has the potential to be a candidate source of your issue.

It's often raining in the Summer. That's when the air fryer comes into it own.

My air fryer is against a tile wall and have the same problem although the outside of my air fryer doesn't seem to get greasy
Basically yes
My house has a very small kitchen and previously many things were cooked in the frying pan. After a short while horizontal surfaces such as the tops of cupboards and shelves were covered in a very thin greasy layer of dust requiring a fairly strong grease cutting detergent to remove it quickly.

I find alcohol based hand cleaner works ok to remove this sort of grime

Especially if you live in an above-ground flat

If they are anything like frying pans the main source of fat deposition is airborne fine droplets of fat, perhaps broken up and carried by steam from the water in the food vapourising .

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll try that when I next make the mistake of looking closely at the cooker.

No, I used to roast legs of lamb in a big metal pan in the oven using blocks of lard for the roast potatoes and that fat which ends up as a mixture of lard and fat from the lamb never does evaporate
The lighter oils left after the carving to the leg on a carving dish and the small bits of meat do dry out
And the grill where I cook steak and chops etc do end up greasy until I put the massive great cast iron plate things I grill on into the dishwasher
I don't get that with my air fryers and I have been thru to different air fryers now
I don't get that either
Nope, its driven out by the airflow with the vents in the wrong place
I don't add any but oven chips are
I put the removable thing in the dishwasher
But the grill does

(Yes, hand cleanser is usually 60-80% alcohol.)
