Detector for wood, metal, pipe, reinforcing bar and cable in wallboard

Dear All,

I'd like to use this (price looks good) for detecting, stud partions, cable runs and pipes in stud walls, brick walls and under floorboards. Anybody have any experience of this device or similar?

thanks Davy

IMO. I always look for physical signs first then confirm with a detector.

Any recommendations for a live cable detector that works properly with wooden studded drywalls?

My old one tends to light up over the entire surface of the plasterboard for a distance of upto 3 feet from the cable.

Cheers

Tim

Doesn't it have a sensitivity control/adjustment?

Sylvain.

That is with the best adjustment - otherwise it lights up over the entire wall. So it's a bit useless, but I'm interested in a recommendation for a device that works well on drywalls.

Thanks

Tim
