Density of concrete

Can somebody tell how much a cubic yard of set concrete weighs?

If you are trying to get rid of the mother in law, that is a bit excessive....

Ask.com tells me, one cubic _foot_ of concrete[1] weighs 150lb so multiply that by 27.

[1] - don't know the mix though ...

Zen83237 coughed up some electrons that declared:

Couple of tons? I have a vague recollection that 1m3 is about 2 tonnes give or take, or double the density of water.

1.8 tons then. I have been looking at a suspicious fire in a timber constructed building (not in this country) where concrete footings up to approx 1 cubic yard have been uprooted out of the ground with burn marks on the concrete. ie the flanks that should have been underground. Is a JCB man enough for doing that.

A JCB would be able to move a lump like that about. It would leave teeth marks on it though. mark

Yes.
