DAB antenna problem

That picture isn't sharp. It might be the right tool for the job but are you sure you're using your camera correctly?

Take at look at some of the pictures Bill posted a few weeks ago of aerial fixings in the Digital TV group to see how it should be done.

TomTom have got varying pricing policies.

My phone app cost around £30 and it was meant to have free maps and free traffic/speed camera info for life. 18 months later they withdrew the offer and released a new app. (end of life for the app) Existing users were able to 'upgrade' with 3 years of maps/data/camera for around $1.

I have had a dedicated TT but map upgrades were expensive. Occasionally they offered cheap map upgrades but with a large gotcha - they would only install if you had previously installed the expensive quarterly updates.

Also watch out for some of the lower specified units. They come with a fixed amount of internal storage with no facility for any extra storage. The supplied map justs fits the storage available. They will offer free for life map updates BUT the new maps may be larger than the storage available and to get the new map you first have to remove the old one!

Even with the more expensive models that can take a micro SD card the internal memory may just large enough to take a map. When upgrading the map the supplied TT software for the PC ignores the additional SD card and says not enough memory for the upgrade. There are ways around this which involve copying the whole of the TT operating system to the SD card and then pretending that the SD is the TT unit. The PC software then sees say, 30G, of free space on the SD card for a 5G map.

While I think that the TT interface is possibly one of the better ones, I've tried I don't rate TT as a customer friendly or trustworthy company.

I note that most taxi drivers around my way all use Co-pilot as their GPS of choice.

My Garmin satnav also offers free map upgrades for life. Odd though that new major roads around here which have been open for over 12 months still don't show up.

Bloody amazing - will pick up LW/MW/FM and DAB far better than roof antenna.

windscreen, but he says that he cannot use the same antenna to feed my Nuvicam's DAB traffic 3.5mm socket.
