Cost of installing an Outset Gas Fire

Anyone had an outset gas fire fitted recently? Can someone give me an idea of what the cost might be?? Thanks

All depends. Is the existing chimney swept and in good order or does it need a liner? Is (an adequate) gas supply to hand? how much making good will be needed?

If all is favourable you could do one in half a day but but but....

everything in order, just taken out old gas fire, chimney sound, gas pipe already in place, a matter of someone assembling fire (coals etc), doing a few checks, and connecting to gas pipe. Thanks

i cannot believe you simplify the installation of a potentially deadly appliance is such a non caring manner. do you know the risks involved in a few checks, do you know the specification of the flue, the terminal, flue liner, terminal positioning, materials to be used and that is before you even consider unpacking your fir from b & q

pay the money get the service and you will be happy and safe!

Not saying its easy and wouldn't even dream of getting husband to install fire - I'm quite aware that you need a qualified Corgi registered person to connect a gas fire.. Just trying to explain that it will most likely be a straight forward job, no messing about with bricking up, flues etc., gas pipe already installed, more or less following the manufacturer's installation guide and getting a Corgi registered person to fit it. Only trying to ask what price I would expect to pay, not trying to start an argument with anyone, Only pointed out that there is no brickwork to do, probably don't need a liner, as its an outset fire, no need for back box, probably a straight forward job for a specialist ... and its not a 'Fir' being bought off the shelf at B&Q.
