Corded curtain track Q.

Jul 10, 2026 0 Replies

Years ago bought a telescopic corded curtain rail - from B&Q IIRC.

The carrier glider which the cord attachs to broke.

A lot of digging revealed that the basis is a Swish product and you can source replacement "universal" overlap arm carriers.

Duly ordered and fitted.

Only now the new carrier - which glides perfectly in the track - is touching on the tracl support which is a "J" shaped metal bracket that is screwed to the top of the valance.

I am reluctantly guessing that "universal is of course no such thing, and I am SOOL with this job an have to do what my first instinct was, and buy a whole new track (and suck up the wasted £12 on the "universal" spare).

As a Hail Mary, I wondered if anyone here had encountered and fixed this with a genius hack ?

TIA
