Cooker switch positioning

I know that it must be within 2 metres of the cooker, but does it have to be within easy reach? Would high up on the wall close to the ceiling be ok for example? I can reach it, but Management is a little vertically challenged in comparison.

1.2 metres off the floor max I think (acess for the disabled rules)

No. It's required for emergency switching, not just isolation.

You could (probably - I can see no reason why not) use a shower pullcord with mechanical off indicator if you wanted to, if wall mounting is problemish.
