Combi Boiler and removing a radiator

My daughetr is having some artex skim coated with plaster and needs to remove one radiator for this to be done. The plasterer indicated there might be a problem removing the radiator as it is run from a combi boiler. Can anyone expand on this? Is there a problem removing this radiator temprarily?

TIA

down the system the boiler will continue to work normally. Do this by turning the return valve to fully closed and by fitting the stop cap supplied with the thermostatic valve fitted to the other end of the radiator (I assume that there is a thermostatic valve on the other end)

When you refit the radiator you will need to connect up the flexible pipe between the cold water supply and the radiator circuit at the boiler and refill the system to the correct pressure at the same time as bleeding the air out of the radiator in question. You will also need to adjust the return valve on the radiator to what it was before you turned it off.

If the boiler is situated higher than the radiators you may need to bleed any air from the top of the boiler heater matrix and also check the other radiators for air and re pressurise the system as necessary as you go along

Finally having closed both taps to the flexible pipe disconnect it

This is how I do mine

I am not sure off hand if it has a thermostatic valve. I'll ask my daughter to check.

Aha, thanks, I wondered what that flexible pipe was for.

The boiler is in a small room upstairs and teh rtadiator is in teh groundflor lounge

The flecible pipe I saw is permanently attached but I think it has taps at both ends.

Thanks for the tip.
