Cheap Test for Earth Spike

Aug 09, 2013 4 Replies

Hi guys,

If I bang a copper rod into the ground to act as an earth, what's the simplest way of testing its effectiveness without having to blow 300 quid on a meter for the purpose?

cheers

The problem is, pure copper seems to oxidise and be less of an earth over time, depending on the soil of course. Brian

I bought a Robin KMP 4116DL for about £20 on Ebay. You have to bypass the trips when doing an internal test, but is fine for Ze testing.
