It's a bike trailer. There are various models about - ask on uk.rec.cycling and you might find somebody who's used this particular one.

Our yak bob trailer gets regular use and seems pretty good.

I'd rather not, I put a question on uk.rec.cycling once and I have never come across such a bunch of nerdy rude unhelpful people in my life, well not since uk.railways. I would be scared to ask them anything.

I can't be bothered to check, but I suspect that instead of asking something you tried to tell them something and then got upset when they didn't agree with you. It happens from time to time in any newsgroup.

If you want the broadest and most informed answer then you should ask on uk.rec.cycling. If you don't want that then ask here.

hee. You asked a very vague question, got some decent answers and went off in a strop. The rudest person on that thread appears to be you.

If you take the time to ask your question, respond sensibly when people asked for clarification and try and avoid being hypersensitive, you'll actually find things out. Same as on here.

FWIW it appears I was first to reply to you in that thread - I thought it was a pretty good answer too :-)

Not that one, but I've used a different sort of 2 wheeled luggage trailer and a child trailer.

Yes, I imagine it would be fine for carrying a golf bag. Assuming a suitable size and weight carrying capacity. If not there are ones with a higher capacity

You'll find some more options here:

I have a bit of a preference for a low level mounting by the rear axle. against mounting up higher behind the seat. Heavier loads can have amore noticeable affect on the handling and braking of the towing bike. Though there are advantages - you can have a more useful off bike tow handle for starters.

I'd also prefer a Aluminium alloy frame rather than steel, a bit lighter (but given the load, not a really much a deal breaker) not prone to rusty when the paint gets scratched.

I don't have experience of the cargo one, but I have a croozer child trailer. I'm very happy with it, all the materials appear to be fit for purpose, its well designed and built, and imo good value compared to the other offerings in that market.

( *I* don't see that Burley / Chariot are worth the extra cost; but I do rate the materials / build quality / weight in the Croozer over the Argos / Halfords etc =A3~100 ones.)

The guy suggested asking on uk.rec.cycling and I stated why I wouldn't ask on that news group. Can you point to the part of my post where I was rude. uk.diy are generally helpful.

I saw the bike hod but it looks horrendously expensive compared to the Croozer but might do the job.

It looks well made on the web site.

I wouldn't touch a bike hod. It'll carry stuff, sure, but other trailers do it so much better. The attachment point is basically in the wrong place.

"the guy" was me. Doesn't take much effort to read what you've quoted - I've left it in ^up there^

"Don't bother replying if it is too much trouble." "On second thoughts I think I'll buy a motor bike."

There was plenty of helpful advice, but you'd apparently gone off in a strop. Your loss.

I am missing something. If you ask a question on uk.rec.cycling that means the regular contributors can hurl abuse at you. Well thanks but I would rather not ask the question in that news group if it means you have encroached on somebody elses domain and that then leaves the way open to verbal abuse. ok you are a regular to that group and suggested that I post there. I gave my reasons for not posted there having been the butt end of that groups abuse for asking a simple question. Hardly my loss, I'll just stick to taking my son by car.

"Hurl abuse"? What abuse do you think you got? The thread is available via google (link is above), and I see no abuse hurled at you at all.

Once again, "abuse"? You were the abusive one, ignoring all the helpful posts and going off in a strop.

Your loss.

I just avoid newsgroup full of offensive nerds. Ask a simple question get a simple answer, not difficult.

Just did a quick calc, I should get 526 trips in the car before I break even with cost of the trailer. At one trip a week that will be 10 years. not too mention the safety aspects. Not my loss.

We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold. I remember "Zen83237" saying something like:

Can neither of you learn how to snip?
