It did seem as though water was more expensive if you insisted on your litres being cube-shaped, rather than spherical, for example.

Well, a braino, really. :o)

Cubic litres would be 4 dimensional. Not sure how they's get that down the pipes.

Looking at the money I'd say it's a cubic metre with dyslexia rather than a 9-dimensional volume.
