AS high winds sweep the UK

windmills are generating about 25% of their peak output.

One assumes the poor things cant cope with high winds.

And are shut down...

As are several bridges due to the high wind. Your answer would be to abolish bridges, then?

BTW, 'the weather' made a fair old job of closing one nuclear power station. Permanently.

If there was a much cheaper, much more reliable method for crossing rivers (just as there is a much cheaper, much more reliable method of generating electricity), of course bridges would be abolished.

Wind? What Wind? Nothing to make any comment about in the north. Low output due to lack of wind... Certainly the ones visible from the M6 Penrith to Preston yesterday were barely turning.
