The handle on the inside of my daugter's front door has broken. It's basically because whoever installed the lock and handles cut the square shaft too short and it wasn't fully engaged in the handle. The handle's casting has broken round the shaft.
So, can I buy a pair of Eurolock handles from such as Screwfix or Toolstation and expect them to fit (well, only the inside one is necessary)? Will the keyhole be in the right place?
Can one buy shafts separately too?
There are different sizes but most probably you have the common size for UK UPVC and composite doors, 92mm from where the key goes in to the centre of the spindle. This is the PZ dimension in the specification.
The Screwfix handles accommodate door thicknesses of around 45mm to 75mm and the handles will come with an appropriate spindle
Screwfix also sell the alternative size where PZ = 47.5mm but for thinner doors (35 to 45mm)
You may also want to check the fixing centres for the handles. The handle on the front is fixed from the back with a screw that goes through the back handle. This is to prevent the front handle being removed from the front of the door allowing someone to perhaps snap the lock.
Thanks both, I can now go back to check the dimensions and then on to Screwfix to (hopefully) get what's needed.
Don't forget a new square shaft, that will need cutting to size.

What I usually do is buy both, with the intention of taking the unused one back. Then, of course, forget to do so. I've assembled a good selection of plumbing parts that way!
The two products have different distances between the handle and keyhole. There are diagrams with dimensions for each product if you pick the appropriate picture from the sets offered.
Both A and B types have the 92mm dimension (key position to handle spindle.)
The difference is where the mounting screws are positioned. As the mounting screws go through the inside handle then through the door to fix the outside handle you need to select the correct mounting screw positions for a quick replacement. The outside handle therefore has a blind fixing so the potential thief cannot remove the outside handle faceplate to gain better access to the eurolock.
The thief is however not worried about completely trashing your property so he could just hit a UPVC door with a crowbar next to the handle faceplate and just lever it off. On most cheaper UPVC doors you can just kick in the lower panel which is often constructed of two 1.5mm sheets of UPVC with a foam core. "More secure" panels will have an additional inner sheet of 4mm or 8mm MDF.
