Approx cost of perforated metal sheet

What is the approx cost of a "perforated" metal sheet about 18 or 24 inches square from one of the large DIY chains?

Made of mild steel or aluminium.

Thanks.

BTW by "perforated" I mean the type that is sort of a mesh made from expanding lots of slits. Each slit is about 1/4 to 1/2 inch long.

About 4 times what it should be - same as all the other slow moving stuff they sell.

Saw some at B&Q Luton but the price didn't register. Don't they have a website?

A good place to buy it from if you don't have a metals stockist is a place that sells stuff for PA loudspeakers.

However googling for expanded metal mesh resulted in lots of UK companies..find one in our area and call em up.

Might get a few meters of scrap for bugger all!

You can get sheets of expanded metal mesh in merchants that provide to the Plastering trade. Available in different sheet and mesh sizes. Also availavble in galvanised steel or stainless steel. A sheet of 1.8m by 0.6m would be about £5 for the standard galvanised stuff.
