Anyone been to a Bunnings yet?

We have a Homebase about 5 minutes walk away. I have no idea if it's now a Bunnings as I went there so rarely that I can't be arsed to make a special journey. Perhaps I will one day.

Meanwhile, B&Q and Screwfix are 2 miles away, and Toolstation and Wickes about 14 miles (but a quick drive).

B&Q used to be nearer. When they opened in 1979, SWMBO was one of their first employees. She gave up after a few months.

I just checked Google Street View to find that the former Homebase is now "The Range", a chain I'd never heard of, that seems to be a furniture, homeware and clothing outlet. But there's a Wickes and a Screwfix on the same estate, so no loss.

We have a Range within striking distance.

Not much compelling stuff there, but they do very nice lamp shades which we don't see anywhere else.

Mainly crap and chavs (in my very biased opinion)

Cheers

Good for craft stuff, and my son uses it a lot for proper art supplies, they have a decent range of canvases, paints etc at decent prices.

Beyond that, it's ok for random kitchen stuff (plastic bins etc) or for cheap but half decent picture frames but not much else...

A very different place to bunnings :-)
