Aldi Pole Pruner Chainsaw size Help!!

I bought a Macalistair electric one which comes with a pole but can also be used with normal handle (supplied). From memory it was about £80. It does what I need- light lopping of some trees etc I can't readily reach from the ground without the pole.

As I recall, I bought if from Screwfix but I think B&Q also do them.

Remember, even a small chainsaw on the end of a pole is quite difficult to man-handle so small has is good.

FWIW Lidl just had something that sounds similar to the Aldi, except that it came complete with an Oregon bar and chain. Runs on their 20 volt batteries. Basically on a 1 metre stick that extends to two metres. Waiting for the rain to stop before trying it. About £50 iirc.

No complaints at all. I ended up with three, I thought at the price the one I bought wouldn't last and the other two were at a ridiculously low price.

I'm still on the first! I have a lot of Olearia that are beyond the range of the device, but with a bit of ingenuity and no RAMS, the system works.

I would strongly reccomend the pruner!

Not sure how many chains I've used. I got a lot from Ebay.

A lot of gardening tools are battery powered now. The force and movement involved in cutting would suggest that batteries are not a good choice for most gardening tasks.

I did look at a Lidl lopper last month, but it seems almost as impractical as the lopper with a piece of string attached to an angled blade.

With engineering, I am a believer that if it don't look right, it probably isn't
