Airbrushes (Help)

I have a cheapo (Chinese?) airbrush.

It has been cleaned thoroughly (so no paint residue).

But it will not spray paint properly. It will let air through but on pulling back the lever (double action) nothing seems to happen.

There is no paint flow at all at any sort of distance but very close a little paint seems to come through whilst with the nozzle actually touching, the cup ('filled' with paint) just seems to bubble (as per usual inter-paint cleaning routine).

Does anyone recognise these symptoms or is it just a case of re-build until 'brush works properly or failing that bin it (it is a cheapo) and get a decent one?

Edit son was 'cleaning' it could he have dislodged the O-ring?

I thought you needed very thinned paint for these, otherwise its more of a gloop gun than an airbrush. Brian

Yup. I'd try running neat thinners through it and up the pressure just to be eliminate the possibiliity the gun may be outright defective.

Well yeah, but this is with airbrush specific paint (pre thinned). Why does it cost more to get stuff that contains less of what you actually need?
