I want to replace the clumsy and difficult to use screw down greaser on my boat with a simple, bog-standard, grease gun.
The existing greaser is somewhat like this one (maybe I should sell mine!).
I'd like to simply attach a standard, cartridge refillable, grease gun to the end of the flexible pipe.
What is the likely thread on that nut on the end of the flexible pipe? (Yes, I know, how long ias a piece of string). It's quite likely to be a non-metric size I think but I'm not really sure. I can detach the pipe and measure but it would be nice to know what my measurements might be and what they indicate. It's rather inaccessible so a close look is decidedly awkward.
Where am I likely to be able to get an adapter to go from the grease gun to the pipe?
This isn't particularly high pressure application, it just pushes grease into the stuffing box that stops (hopefully) water coming up round the prop shaft into the boat.
