A bit windy

These days many cars have the wipers, heated rear screen, central locking, etc., all controlled by the same module. It has to remain powered for the central locking and remote keyfob, so it is easy for it to park the wipers, whether the ignition is on or off.

Self parking wipers have been around as long as I have. Wipers that aren't actually isolated by the ignition switch (even in software) simply stupid. If you understand the difference.

Quite. Also if you don't and the wipers come on the next day when you go to start the car, a good way to scratch the screen if it is dry.

But had self parking. If that still worked.

My car has CANbus control. But the ignition switch still isolates the wipers. In some ways it might be nice to have the single wipe active with the ignition off - for when you're in the car parked up on a rainy day.

But under those conditions it also switches the radio off after about 20 minutes. ;-) Even with the key in the ignition.

Best done on a frosty night though lest in the morning when you switch on the ignition the wipers are frozen to the windscreen.
