Oh, and going by the portrayal of non-professional electrical installers by people wearing tee-shirts with "DIY" emblazoned on them suggests that they only want 'tradies' to watch their videos, useful though they are.

In another video, are those 'brown' round wiring connectors really being banned ?. Most folks have moved on to 'Wago' connectors anyway.

The answer to most questions posed like that is "No".

I've replaced a few, but must still have several up in the loft.

Here's the UK spec for plugin solar

"AC interconnection or connection of multiple inverter units to the same circuit by means of extension cables, plug couplers or in-line connector systems to shall not be permitted."

So I read that as being able to plug in several 800W inverters as long as each is in a different circuit ...

But it now seems to specifically exclude any element of battery storage, so makes it a lot less attractive for covering off base load 24x7

The following information shall be provided:

- Clearly state that only one plug-in solar device shall be installed per household[11]

NOTE 11: This may be changed to circuit depending on outcome of consultation.

Also to note that's the words they have to put in the instructions. It doesn't make them law (although there's the whole "installed in accordance with manufacturer's instructions" thing that various things like insurance may require)

There may be a subsequent document with more words coming later? There are a different set of issues with battery systems which would presumably require a different standard.
