Bathroom Heat Lamp Chrome Fixture?

Send it out to a polishing shop or plater and have it replated. Finding a new part for a 60 or 65 year old fixture is going to be next to impossible.

batteries for mobility scooters

Worth checking for a local mobility hire shop/garage and see what they can offer. They are likely to use a cost effective product themselves and their price premium may be acceptable.

But for MM, the way I'd do it is by hiring a wet carpet cleaner (any tool hire shop). They do a very good job of cleaning carpets.
