Sliding compound miter saws

If it will only sit on a bench in your shop this is not important. I have used an 8 1/2" Dewalt and would actually love to have a smaller saw like it, I am short, 5' 7" and find reaching around the Makita to tilt the blade a bit awkward, I have also used a 12" Makita and it is even more so.

Jogs in the Pipes (?)

When roughing in, I'd take as many measurements back to the shop so I could use the big threading machine. It's so easy to be off using this method, that I'd just be happy to hit the right joist space, saving the critical measurements for the job site.

I *am* talking about the shop in the corner of the manufacturer's warehouse that sells stuff that might not be perfect or may just be overstock. One such example near where I travel is the Plano Molding Company in Plano, IL.

3/4" thick glass door hinge

It seems to me if you started with some stainless channel and had the shop weld a couple of 1/4" pins on the bottom these could be set into a small plate with a nice little nylon bushing, and perhaps even a thrust washer on the bottom.

oh, wait.....that's right, the advice was free, my bad I just paid $400 for a site visit, calcs, retrofit sketch & report for a re-roof; that's what it usually takes to get real advice / hard numbers..... >>>It is better to ask professionals than guess on your own.
