Take it to a shop that sells and services Stihl saws. It's amazing how well they run after a professional works on the carb. M.
Agree, but often it is hard to convince someone to shop on value not price. A cheap safe is one step above a cardboard box.
And we're driving up to the &bigcity. for the weekend, to shop at someone else's Gap[*] and sit in a hotel. ;-) [*] Well, not the Gap. ;-)

Try looking for a motor repair shop (or electric motor repair) in your phone book. They may only charge a few bucks to fix it.
I use a cumbersome Shop Vac, with an auto switch. I wrap the power cord around the hose. It isn't as bad as it seems.
$25,000 with a large shop-hogging footprint , vs. a couple of hundred bucks for a decent, forget that, a *good* hand plane. Norm. Period. jc
I will pass it on to the owner of the shop. Thanks to all who helped. Steve R.
