Douglas Fir Question

That said, it does not appear that all of the woods listed on that site would be classified as "hardwoods". "Vertical grain" Douglas Fir will command a premium price, finishes nicely, and is an easy wood to work.

stinky trees?

Another interesting tidbit from these parts -- a local high end gift shop uses a ginkgo leaf as it's logo and paid big bucks to have ginkgos planted on two sides of their store between the sidewalk and street.

Dryer Vent And Lint Question

Bob: I really doubt that using a Shop Vac vaccuum cleaner would cause enough air flow past the pilot light to put it out. However, there's no harm in downloading a copy of your dryer's owner's manual, which will tell you how to re-light the pilot light if it goes out.

My contact has got back to me, it's not the garage I thought it was (going by the piccies on the web site) but the one that was near the traffic lights for Tyndalls Park Road. Not a great report about the shop, it's not very big so can't really hold that much stock.

When i did my apprenticeship if any treads or risers were more than 1/16" or 1.5mm out then you would have to remake the stringers and take a right bollocking off the forman , this covered all types of stringers wether shop or site made , same with plumb of the newel posts and when ...
