SOT: An Amazon trick

Maybe you get a little card or something? When we were at school, I worked on plays and revues, would be sent up to the local ironmomgers to buy things on the school's account, no questions asked, or to the gun shop to get .22 blanks for the starting pistol.

Gap between Electric Cooker & Kitchen Units

A free standing is often 500mm wide etc. The description they give it in the shop is also a clue!

OT(?): Impressive Farnell delivery time

Ordered the lads birthday present from the online Lego Shop at midday. The "dispatched" email is timed at 1646. It arrived here at 1140 next day. This came from Brussels, via East Midlands and Manchester. Wasn't free though...

Resistors

However, what has changed is that at one time if the shop didn't stock it you'd get it sent free from the warehouse.

Amazon stealth deliveries

If I really want it in a hurry I could go to a shop. Nothing wrong with Amazon's free delivery. I usually collect from Amazon locker at Faringdon and it most often arrives earlier than the date quoted.

paying cash innit?

Slightly OT, but was in a Subway a while back, and I noticed they had no facilities to pay by card - and a big notice by the till "CASH ONLY". It made me wonder ... clearly that's as good as saying "this is the shop you need to hold up" to anyone with bad intent.

Has anyone got a use for...

It was by credit card so I had to hobble over to the shop and back. I've just about forgiven her. MBQ
