This is sort of on topic because Flickr and Geocities are Yahoo. There are also many Yahoo orchid groups. Granted I hadn't been paying any real attention to the talk about Google and Yahoo merging and now failing to merge (allowing Microsoft to possibly extend its buyout offer). AFAIK they were only talking about advertising dollars and sponsored web searches, but could the Yahoo groups also come under some sort of economic pressure if Yahoo gets sold? Like Microsoft may not want to carry (free) Yahoo groups or Geocities pages anymore?
