A while ago I bought a new toilet seat with all the latest features.
Easy to remove for cleaning.
Won't slam down and wake other people.
Can't pinch your fingers between the seat and whatever.
What they didn't say is that the same feature (friction) that keeps it from slamming down also keeps it from staying up. I have to push the seat, and maybe the lid too, against the tank 4 times before it will stay there.
And in my whole life, I've never come close to pinching a finger at home or any of the other hundreds of toilets I must have used. I don't even know h ow one would do it, so that feature is hard to pin down.
And maybe the prior seats had slammed down a dozen times over 20+ years, but I live alone anyhow, there is no one to wake up.
It's not that easy to take off either, but maybe I need practice, or to learn some trick. The jury is still out on that one.
Other than this, the Bemis seat is nice enough. Plastic and comes in a variety of colors.
