Water Plug?

I believe that Water Plug is a brand name for a type of hydraulic cement. I can't find it a Home Depot or Lowe's.

Does anyone know where I could by Water Plug please?

Thanks !!

HD and Lowe's both sell hydraulic cement, though maybe not that brand. If you can't find hydraulic cement of *some* sort there, you're not looking very hard.

Is there a reason you need that specific brand? Why can't you use one of the brands that HD and Lowe's have available?

Doug, I looked for "hydraulic cement" in both stores, and no one knew what I was talking about.

James, a Mom&Pop type hardware store may be your best bet on this. I have used it before, came in a "milk carton" box. I can't remember the brand name though. Carton had a lot of yellow on it.

No, you didn't. Didn't *look*, I mean. You *asked*. If you had actually

*looked*, with your eyes, you would've found it. It's there, in plain sight.

And of course, ya gotta know how to ask.

Instead of asking for hydraulic cement, if you had asked for "that stuff you mix up to patch a leak in your basement wall", the clueless goofs that work there would have had some sort of idea what to look for - when you asked for hydraulic cement, they probably thought you wanted to fix a leaking hydraulic cylinder in a forklift - and with any luck, they would have find this stuff (just like you would have, if you'd gone to lowes.com and searched for "hydraulic cement"):

Or, for that matter, just like you would have if you'd gone to an actual Lowe's store and wandered around in the building materials department til you found the aisle where they keep the concrete products, and then looked at the shelves til you stumbled across this stuff. It's not that hard to find, and I repeat: if you can't find some kind of hydraulic cement at Lowe's or HD, you're not looking very carefully.

They have it at Lowe's. And at Home Depot. He just didn't look.

Read his post: he didn't look. He *asked*. And when they didn't know what he meant, he concluded that they didn't have it, and gave up.

Bad conclusion. *Never* assume that the clerks in a big-box home center know more than you do.

If you go into a Lowe's, or a Home Depot, and *look* (with your eyes) on the shelves on the aisle where they keep the concrete products, you *will* find hydraulic cement. It's there, in both stores, and easily found by anyone who actually *looks*.

Please don't reply to his nonsense. I have him blocked, but still have to see him when people reply.

I see you're *still* whining because I busted you *again* for your inaccurate, dangerous electrical "advice".

That was more than a month ago, toller. Get over it.

That was my experience as well. . .blank stares.

Try your local Ace Hardware. That's where I found it. It comes in an orange can, as I recall.

Once I went to a Home Depot and searched up and down for Contact Cement to no avail. I then asked a clerk in the section where I thought it most likely would be. The clerk did not know what Contact Cement was, "never heard of it".. I then went to a small local Hardware store. The Lowes in Northern Virginia seem to be better. I do not have a Lowes close by though.

The big box home centers are staffed mainly by clerks who load the shelves and organize. Occasionally, one can get lucky and find a knowledgeable staffer.
