Wall-Mounting First Alert Smoke Detector

Ours did when we bought it, but we installed an upgrade when we switched from electric to gas stove.

When I got this house I was going to do everything right and I was going to replace the carbon filter in the range hood. I think it was $24 forty years ago. I couldn't believe it and I didn't buy it.

It's on our list of things to do to get it vented through the roof. I considered doing it myself but I'm a unique blend of busy and lazy.

I wonder if there is still a carbon filter in there, or is it just a solitary slab of grease and dirt by now.

I haven't read down-thread, but I installed a SimpliSafe system several years ago. I also had a smoke and CO detector before that. On my system, the worst I'll ever have to do is punch some numbers on a keypad. I'm not worried about the sturdiness of the mount. I used the included drywall screws and didn't worry about finding studs. YMMV
