The most and least friendly states for retirees, tax wise

I live in #48 but next year should be in a more neutral state with no income tax.

I live in #3 but we are collecting people from NJ and NY. Downstate property taxes are half my northern county tax due to parties in control of the county - you can guess which and you will be correct.

I heard a woman from NJ looking at a house in lower DE asked the property tax and when told asked if that was the monthly tax ;)

We also have no sales tax and half the shoppers here are from nearby NJ, PA and MD.

Unfortunately we are a blue state and government is pushing hard to make it bluer and less green to live here.

Somehow I don't foresee lots of retirees moving to Hawaii for the low taxes. I couldn't afford a two-hole outhouse there.
