sweating toilet

Every year around this time my toilet begins to sweat and makes a wet mess on the floor. It's not the toilet tank, but the underside of the bowl. Wipe your hand under the bowl and get a handful of water. Is there anything to do to prevent this?

It does it this time of year because the humidity is high. Does it quit later in the summer?

It sounds like you have a leaking flapper valve and an insulated tank that is preventing the tank from sweating.

If you're positive it's not a leak, which is doubtful unless the tank is already insulated, drop a fish-tank heater in the tank. This will feed warmer water into the bowl when you flush, and thus reduce sweating.

And get a dehumidifier.
