There was a segment on the news about roofing right now. With building materials scarce and high priced, the roofer said from the time he gives and estimate to the time the job starts, cost can go up $3500.
Can you spell "contract", boys and girls?
I bet one of the clauses today is "valid for 12 hours"
Can you say "so sue me"? Good luck with that one.
Contracts tend to be written by the contractor, not by the customer, so my guess is that they're going to protect the contractor at the expense of the customer.
