Replacing glass panes

Dunno, can't see it. Can it? Should know in about 30 seconds of trying...

What kind of window construction...wood, metal, vinyl, ...??? What could be done is highly dependent upon what you got to work with and what have left versus have to manufacture or repair.

And, of course, all estimates are contingent upon correct statement of the facts...undisclosed damage is not accounted for in any bid (at least if have any sense at all in bidding).

Yah, you just f***ed yourself good. I don't know a single tradesman (plumber/electrician/HVAC) that will pull in my driveway for less than $120.

You are right. When I saw the window, I did not see all the damage the first time.

I will go there Friday to measure the glass panes and assess what it will take to fix the window.

Then I will explain in detail what I found.

If it will take more money and effort than just replacing the 2 panes of glass, I will tell her so.

I am retired and doing well, but recently had a lot of medical expenses.

I need some part time income for the next 2 weeks.

Even if he's going low, I agree, he's really, really low. And who pays for materials? You have to price the job not for the best case scenario, where it all goes perfectly and takes, one trip, half an hour, but to cover the cases where it turns out otherwise.

I estimated that materials, namely 2 very small pieces of un-tempered glass and glazing compound to be under $10 IF that was all that was required.

Labor to replace the glass at about 30 minutes.

Yah, and there's transportation costs, various insurances, taxes, permits etc. There's a lot of welfare democrats that need to be fed so pay your fair share of taxes.

All well and good and charity work is a good thing... :)

But, you mentioned earlier extra income for short-term medical bills -- such charging practice as this will likely only add to the actual outlay by time pay gas and incidentals or at least not be sufficient income to make any impact whatsoever on that problem...

Apparently the $30 includes the cost of the glass too. He could charge twice that and reasonable people would be happy, it's still very cheap.
