[SOLVED] Power washer with Honda engine won't start. Solved

I see 2 issues here that may factor into it. The hard to pull thing might just be that there is pressure on the pump, squeeze the trigger. Hot engines tend to flood too and sometimes if you take the air cleaner off and pull it through they will start, smoking a might until they get cleared out. Make sure the choke is off. Auto chokes will get you every time. Make sure the air cleaner isn't plugged before you put it back.

Valves out of adjustment

Fuel tank valve is shut off.

Some years back, I sold an excellent condition one to a guy on Craigslist. It started and ran fine in my yard when he inspected it but when he got to the job site, it wouldn't start.

The irate guy and his helper brought it back to my house, slammed it out of their truck onto my driveway and banged aggressively on the front door, yelling he wanted his money back.

What's the problem, I asked. "Sumbitch piece of crap you stuck me with won't start," he said.

I noticed that the gas tank valve was still in the closed/safe position that I had put it in after the sale...and I surreptitiously opened it.

I told him I'd give him his money back if it wouldn't start- but I said I'd bet him $20 that it would start. He quickly accepted the bet.

I had my 10 year old grandson come over and give the recoil cord a slow pull to get some gas into the drained carb and then a good yank. Of course it started right up.

When he originally bought it, he had paid my full asking price without making a counter offer. And since that price was padded about $20-$30 so I'd have have some bargaining room, I told him he could keep his $20 and go buy his guy breakfast.

Why a dick? No need to be dicky. Help out.
