I decided to buy the peened one, and return the other, because I'm only going to do this once. I hate retuning things, and if they won't let me, because of the virus, I'll give it to a medical charity here that gives out medical equipment. By the time I take it back, it will have been sitting in my car's trunk for a week, without no one breathing on it, not even me.

So the new one came, and the drill bits came, but I thought I should take another bath to confirm location.

That was yesterday, and strangely, I had no trouble without it this time. But it's still on the list to be done soon.

When I went to sign up for return, it asked a 3 questions and one was Is the item** damaged, the item and the box, or just the box, I think it was. But the answers, Amazon said, did not affect returning it. **Or maybe it was packaging.

But then Kohls was not on the list, and I looked into that and Kohl's only accepts some things for return. One category that was in dispute was stuff sold or fulfilled but not by Amazon. That didn't apply here.

So maybe it's size, or weight. Or maybe Kohls is taking a break or it's closed altogether because of the virus. Who knows.

But they suggested 4 UPS stores nearby. I stopped, so I can think about which is the best. It says I don't have to print a label, the store will print one for me when I get there. I still have the box the first one came in, I'm glad of that.

For a while months ago, I wondered what they did at Kohls with returns. Did they send them to the same warehouse they came from (that would be a lot of trouble, almost easier to throw some of it away), or any particular one. I read that iirc clothes come from the downtown Baltimore warehouse and hardware from one 10 or 20 miles NE of town, iirc. But I also read that Amazon doesn't try, as I understood it, to keep all of its identical items together. They have a record for each item in stock and they put the thing wherever there is space and the computer knows where to go get it when the time comes. So I would think a Kohls would send its returns to the closest warehouse and Amazon would just put everything there.

The Baltimore County and maybe City Library has, because of computers, redone its storage system too. Now, it doesn't matter where you get a book, you can return it to any branch and it will stay there. No shuttle to take it back to the place you got it from. When you look online, the computer knows where every copy is and that's all it cares about. The books used to have code on the spine and inside about which branch they belong to, but they don't anymore. (They will send it from one branch to another if you ask for that, to pick it up, no charge.) I think Amazon is similar.

Amazon also extended returns for things bought within some 30 or 40? day period until May 31, but I'll still do it in a couple days so they have it in stock.

(I don't see how people live without baths. They seem to work so much bwetter than showers.)

I'm sure. Even if I don't need it now, I will.

I did get a bath mat. Cut it in half so it covers only the half of the tub near the drain, and that makes a big difference.
