Is crabgrass killing an essential task?

I don't consider crabgrass killing to be essential, ever. I just let it do its thing.

If it's green and I can mow it, it's a lawn. If I can't mow it, it's a hedge.

So I'm in trouble with the government now. I think the fine is 1000's of dollars.

And they can use my IP and check HD's to see who ordered the crabgrass today and had it put in one of their will-call lockers this morning. Probably no more than me and maybe one other. Or just me.

Your first problem is that whatever weeds you have, it's not crabgrass. Crabgrass has barely started to germinate in MD at this point. It's probably too late for most pre-emergents too.

I'm the same, but my wife has other ideas. If she planted it, it's good. If not, it's bad.

A weed is any plant that is out of place. Corn plants in a soybean field are weeds.

Crabgrass, last I heard, WAS a weed.

I do have creeping charlie, but I've never seen it bloom. When is that?

Spring. I think some of it has started blooming already, here in Michigan.

It also smells good when you mow over it.

It's usually warmer in Baltmiore than Michigan, and it's got new leaves, but no flowers.

And soon I may mow the lawn

I did a little mowing yesterday. Everyplace we've seeded grass over the years needed it, but the weedy areas in the "back 40" can wait until next week.

Today I put out a little grass seed on an area where we lost a big white pine tree a couple of years ago and another spot where we filled in a ground hog hole. Oh, and I fed the garlic.

Tomorrow is expected to be rainy and extremely windy. A good day to stay indoors. In any event, it'll be Monday and I'll have to resume working from home.
